Archer had a pretty good day today.
He explored the back yard for the first time…
…discovered he loves carrots…
…and got to wear his space PJ’s one last time.
There’s nothing like a little “Dr Strangelove” to lighten your day.
Archer can’t really stand on his own yet but he does a pretty good job at it as long as he has something to hang onto. If he wasn’t so easily distracted he could hang on even longer. If Sil walks by, Archer notices something interesting, or he hears a noise from outside he suddenly loses all interest in hanging on and immediately starts to fall over. Whenever possible he also feels the need to hang on with his mouth as well as his hands. At first I though he was just chewing on something handy but he doesn’t chew, he just bites down and hangs on, like Pubert Addams.
We never thought Silvio would be as tolerant of Archer’s attention as he is. Sil is usually really picky about how he wants to be pet but with Arch he will lay back and let him do whatever he wants.
the roll part
Last Sunday Archer finally did it. He rolled over on his own. He has now shown all of the six-month developmental markers and he’s only four months old! Can you tell we’re proud? He can go from his stomach to his back but not the other way. When he tries to roll from his back he can’t figure out what to do with his arms and gets stuck half way. I’m sure he’ll get it eventually but it is tough seeing the frustration on his face when he can’t make it all the way over.
the rock part
Archer was out late last night partying with the gang and this is what he looked like when he rolled back in this morning:
