Potty updated
Yesterday didn’t go so well for potty training. I don’t know why but Arch just didn’t want to use the toilet. About midafternoon we switched from the disposables to cloth trainers. I completely forgot that Cyn had been stockpiling some cloth ones. He hasn’t had any accidents yet today so I guess he likes them better.
Dora the Explorer is slowly melting my brain. It’s almost worth it to hear Arch say, “Aw man!” Almost. The wikipedia entry for it is crazy. Somebody is WAY too into Dora.
Potty training
Week one of potty training is done and it really hasn’t been as tough as I thought it would be. We’re not going by any of the offical “methods” and are just making it up as we go. Arch is taking to pretty well. We ended up buying some disposable pull-ups instead of the cloth ones since we don’t think it will take him very long to figure this whole thing out.
Yesterday he only had one accident and that one was really my fault for getting him over-excited without making sure he didn’t need to go. Every day he gets a little quicker at getting down to business so we don’t even have to sit him on the toilet for very long. It is really nice to not have to rinse out poopy diapers.
Yeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa!

I’m soooo lazy
Wow. I just realized it has been three months since I posted anything. So much for my commitment to a weekly update. It has been a very busy three months; I am no longer a stay-at-home dad, Archer is in daycare, and I am back in school.
See, I told you we’ve been busy. Cyn and I had been talking about me going back to school for a while now. We decided now was time so I turned in all my paperwork, spent WAY too long fighting MU to get my transcript released, and I’m officially a student again. For the first two weeks we just too Arch with us to campus and shuffled him around between me, Cyn, and a couple student Cyn knows well. It worked but wasn’t easy keeping track of everything. Cyn finally found a daycare that looked good. The daycare is really small. It isn’t anything like I remember daycare being. At the most there are only about 5 kids there at any time so Arch gets constant attention. It took him about two weeks to really get used to the idea of going and the first couple days were really tough on Cyn and I. It was the first time I had ever really been away from my boy. He has settled in really well now and asks to go to “baby school” every morning.
It is still weird going anywhere without him. Before school, just about any time I went anywhere I took him with me. For the first couple of weeks I would have a split-second moment of panic every one in a while. Where did Archer go? Why can’t I here him? I’m just now getting over that.
Anyway, enough for tonight. Here are a couple pictures from this weekend:
